1. Who we're
Code & Tell ("Code & Tell", "we", "us", "our") is a SaaS directory operated by Founder First Ventures LTD, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States of America ("Founder First Ventures", the "Company"). Founder First Ventures owns and operates a portfolio of software products and services (collectively, the "Portfolio Products"), of which Code & Tell is one. References to "the Service" mean the Code & Tell website, applications, APIs, newsletters, and related online properties at codeandtell.com and any successor domains.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information when you visit the Service, create an account, submit a product, subscribe to a newsletter, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. This Policy supplements, and doesn't replace, our Terms of Service.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to personal information processed by the Company in connection with the Service. It doesn't apply to third-party websites, products, or services that we don't own or operate, even when linked from the Service. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties, including SaaS products listed in the directory. You should review the privacy policies of any third party before sharing information with them.
3. Information we collect
We collect the categories of information described below. We collect only what we need to operate the Service, comply with law, secure our platform, and improve our products.
3.1 Information you provide

- Founder profile: role, company name, what you build, target ICP, optional links (website, Twitter/X, LinkedIn).
- Product submissions: product name, tagline, website URL, logo, origin story, problem statement, audience, best-fit company sizes and roles, pricing model, demo links, screenshots, and any optional affiliate or referral links you choose to provide.
- Communications: the contents of messages you send us, including support requests, partnership inquiries, and feedback.
- Newsletter: your email address and subscription preferences.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, search queries, referring URLs, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and aggregated counts such as listing view counts.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and similar technical information.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 9 and our Cookie Notice.
- Security and abuse signals: rate-limit data, error logs, audit logs of administrative actions, and similar metadata used to protect the Service.
3.3 Information from third parties
- Identity providers: when you sign in with Google or another provider, we receive basic profile data and tokens necessary to authenticate you.
- Service providers: hosting, database, email, analytics, and payment processors that we use to run the Service.
- Publicly available sources: for example, public information about a product or company you have listed.
4. How we use information
We use personal information for the purposes set out below, each of which corresponds to a lawful basis under applicable data protection law (including, where relevant, performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent, and compliance with legal obligations):
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including reviewing and approving product submissions and version edits.
- Authenticate users, secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- Communicate with you about your account, submissions, and reviews, including approval and rejection notifications.
- Send the FounderFAQs newsletter and other communications you have opted in to receive. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Personalize content, search, and recommendations within the Service.
- Generate aggregated, de-identified analytics about the Service and the broader SaaS market.
- Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from authorities, and protect our rights and the rights of others.
5. Portfolio sharing
Founder First Ventures operates a portfolio of products. We may share limited information across the Portfolio Products solely to operate, secure, and improve those products. This may include, for example, sharing aggregated usage trends, anonymized signals, fraud and abuse signals, basic account identifiers needed for single-sign-on across portfolio properties, or directory metadata (such as approved product listings) that helps another portfolio product surface relevant content.
We do not sell personal information. We don't share personal information with companies outside the Portfolio for their own marketing purposes. Sharing within the Portfolio is governed by internal contractual and technical safeguards, and by this Policy.
6. Disclosure to third parties
Aside from intra-portfolio sharing described above, we disclose personal information only:
- To service providers that process information on our behalf under written agreements requiring confidentiality and appropriate security (for example, hosting and database providers, email senders, analytics, error monitoring, and customer support tools).
- For legal reasons, including to comply with subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes; to enforce our Terms; to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public; or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred subject to confidentiality obligations and continuing protections consistent with this Policy.
- With your consent or at your direction, including when you choose to make your listing public on the Service.
7. Public information
Approved product listings, including the founder name displayed on the listing, the product description, and any links you provide, are public by design. Don't include in your listing any information you don't want made public. You can edit or request removal of your listing at any time from your dashboard, subject to standard review.
8. International transfers
The Company is based in the United States. We process and store personal information on servers located in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, processed in, and stored in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
9. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, secure your session, and measure usage. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Analytics and preference cookies are used where permitted by law and your settings. See our Cookie Notice for details and choices.
10. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account and profile data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle wind-down and legal obligations. Approved listings remain public until you remove them or we remove them under these terms. Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, server-side row-level security on user data, audit logging, and least-privilege principles for administrative access. No system is perfectly secure. We can't guarantee absolute security and you use the Service at your own risk.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to certain processing, and the right to withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these rights directly from your dashboard. For others, contact privacy@codeandtell.com. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
12.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland
If you're in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the rights described in the GDPR or equivalent local law, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The Company acts as a data controller for personal information processed in connection with the Service.
12.2 California
If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under the CCPA, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We don't sell personal information for money. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@codeandtell.com. We don't discriminate against users for exercising their rights.
13. Children
The Service isn't directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact privacy@codeandtell.com and we'll delete it.
14. Third-party links
The Service contains links to third-party websites, including listed SaaS products, demo videos, and affiliate destinations. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending an email or displaying a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
